She couldn’t avoid being stuck in routine when her surrounding space was nothing but stale. It was beautiful, yes, but it hardly allowed her to be surprised. It was odd that a curious mind like hers would be satisfied with such a vapid day-by-day routine, but after the game, maybe she had chosen such a life for she desired peace and living in the middle of nowhere allowed her to have that.
“More or less, yes. Once you are inside the game — in the Medium, in this case —, you are out of danger. At least of the danger of being obliterated by meteors, that is. I’d say there are far worse dangers inside the game, though.”
She was not one to play games, but it seemed as if the one she chose was one of the most dangerous she could’ve chosen. She wasn’t to blame, though, for she only played for her moiral. If she hadn’t played, however, she’d be dead now.
The squeeze on her hand doesn’t go unnoticed and her scarlet eyes search for his own. No words come out of her lips, though, as she turns her gaze away to another spot.
“If you say so.”
She said and followed him.
Beautiful things often turn quite stale first if they are shallow places to explore or encounter, the same with people and most other things that can have a definition of beauty.
Peace is better after a game with such excitement, good and bad, it gives down time to recollect after being thrown around into such high levels of movement and thought
Relaxing is good, or at least, he thought so, after having a life filled with more stress than relaxation.
“Out of danger only to be put into more, then?”
His own green eyes meet scarlet, only for a few fleeting moments before they are looking away, at the ground, at his surroundings, at anything besides her face, a dusky blush of scarlet dotting over his own features.
Regarding her voice with a quick nod to awknowledge that he had indeed heard her, and was not ignoring her, he pushed past the large gates into the main parts of the city - Hightown.
The sun was pushing down into the western portion of the sky by now, and the markets were almost cleared out and the usual bustle of the Merchant’s Guild was winding down - a perfect time for her to be led on a tour, although they would have to be off the streets by dark, unless they wanted a fight.
He would prefer not to get into one.
